About the Project
The Colorado Department of Transportation began region wide chain station improvements on Monarch Pass starting May 17. The project is located at various locations on US 50 in Chaffee, Gunnison, and Saguache. Work took place at the Monarch chain station areas. Tricon 2, LLC was selected for this project, with work expected to be completed in the fall.
Work took place along US 50 from MP 189.1 to 210.7. All locations have new lighting installed, with some locations having solar powered lighting. Five locations have widening and paving improvements, and two culverts will be replaced.
