US 6 Resurfacing Mack to Fruita

This $3.1 million project will resurface US Highway 6 in Mesa County. The project area begins at MP 11.08, near Mack, and proceeds east to MP 20.05 (Fruita).  

Work will also consist of a full-width 2” HMA overlay, shouldering, pothole repair, guardrail upgrades, ADA ramp upgrades and pavement marking.

Work Schedule


Work is scheduled to start in April 2019 and be completed in early July. 


Traffic Impacts


During operations, motorists should be prepared for traffic impacts that include:
• reduced speed limits 
• narrow road with width restrictions 
• pilot car / flaggers
• lane closures and traffic stops 
• delays
