July 18, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – With less than a month away from the scheduled completion date of the CFI project, CDOT and contractor, Concrete Works of Colorado, are on track to move into the final phase of construction.

24-Hour, One-lane Closures on Southbound US 550 Expected

July 11, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – CDOT and contractor Concrete Works of Colorado will continue replacing damaged concrete pavement on the through lanes of US 550, south of the CFI intersection.

June 12, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – Work on the Continuous Flow Intersection progresses into summer as CDOT and contractor, Concrete Works of Colorado, continue working on items such as signing, bridge rails, signal mast arms and raised concrete islands. Two Unrelated Incidents Close Highway US 550 During Morning Hours

April 30, 2014 - PROJECT UPDATE - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO, CO — At approximately 8:15 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014, construction crews hit a gas line at the northeast corner of College Drive. According to Tommy Humphrey, CDOT’s engineer for the US 160/550 CFI project, normal procedures were followed using high-pressure water and a vacuum truck to locate the line but a mini-excavator unintentionally ruptured the ¾ inch line.

Expected Additional Weekend and Nighttime Work

May 2, 2014 - PROJECT UPDATE - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO, CO — Crews with CDOT and Concrete Works of Colorado are still working on east 9th Street from Camino del Rio (US 550) to Roosa Avenue after a truck with a trailer dismantled the main intersection signal pole and its concrete base. Work in the area is expected to continue for several days.

US 160/550 CFI Project Making Progress

April 11, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO, CO — CDOT and Concrete Works of Colorado, Inc. are making good progress on the US 160/550 Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) project scheduled for completion in mid-August. This past week crews installed curb and gutter, as well as raised crosswalks for increased pedestrian safety at College Drive.
