US 24 Passing Lanes West of Peyton

About the Project

In early April and extending into fall 2020, CDOT and contractor partner, Kiewit Infrastructure Company, constructed passing lanes in both directions of US Highway 24 between McKenze Lane (Mile Point 327.1) and Bradshaw Road (MP 328.7). This project involved widening US 24 from two lanes to four lanes to provide approximately one mile of passing zone to improve safety.

A left turn lane was added on westbound US 24 at Bradshaw Road along with an acceleration lane for motorists heading westbound from Bradshaw Road. The contractor will also reconstructed driveway and intersecting roadway approaches, extended cross culverts, and improved roadside ditches. US 24 was resurfaced with new asphalt pavement within the project limits.
