Project Overview

This project— on US 24 from mile posts 217.5 to 222.64—increased safety by designating passing zones for motorists in this area, northeast of Johnson Village. Project work started in July 2015 and was completed in December 2016.

Work included:

  • the construction of two eastbound passing lanes—one between mile posts 217.5 and 218.5, and the other between mile posts 221.7 and 222.64
  • rock excavation
  • pavement reconstruction
  • earthwork
  • signing and striping
