Starting in April 2019, crews will begin reconstructing and widening Colorado Highway 13 north of Craig in Moffat County, from mile points 115 to 121. Work includes:

  • upgrading 70-year-old drainage structures
  • expanding driving lanes to 12 feet and paved shoulder to 8 feet
  • flattening side slopes
  • adding rumble strips for adverse weather conditions
  • improving the highway alignment to meet the 65 mph design speed and allow for better visibility
  • installing snow fence to prevent snow from drifting on the highway
  • improving signage and striping

Schedule & Traffic Impacts

  • Work hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Winter shutdown: November 2019 to April 2020
  • Work begins at mile point 115 and continues to MP 121
  • Expect flaggers directing one-lane alternating traffic in both directions; 30-minute delay and a 35 mph speed-limit reduction
