CO 83 & US 40 Intersection Improvements
Work this Week
May 19 to 25
- Sunday to Saturday: Left lane closed in both directions if East Colfax Avenue between Ceylon and Epana streets
- Monday - Wednesday: East Colfax Avenue closed at Dunkirk Street
- 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday: Right-turn pockets closed intermittently along all four corners at the East Colfax Avenue and Dunkirk Street intersection
About the Project
In May 2019, crews started work on this safety and traffic-operations improvement project at the following intersections in Douglas and Arapahoe counties:
- Colorado Highway 83 (South Parker Road) and Longs Way in Parker
Crews will install a raised median island at South Parker Road and Longs Way. Other work includes installing new curb ramps, curb and gutter work, and adding signs and striping. - Work hours: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Expect lane closures and restricted left turns.
- US Highway 40 (East Colfax Avenue) and Dunkirk Street in Aurora
Crews will widen the road to realign the left-turn lanes on East Colfax Avenue. Other work includes paving, signal work, drainage improvements, installing new curb ramps, curb and gutter work, and adding signs and striping. - Work hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Expect lane closures and restricted left turns.
