CO 13 Reconstruction in Rio Blanco County

About this Project

Crews on this project are reconstructing and widening a nearly five-mile segment of Colorado Highway 13, about 16 miles north of Rifle.


  • This work will be completed in two seasons
  • The project began June 2019 and was suspended for the winter between November 2019 and April 2020
  • Work will be completed in November 2020

Travel Impacts

  • Motorists will encounter single-lane, alternating travel controlled by flaggers during the day and a signal at night.
  • There is a 12-foot width restriction from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please visit for current travel impacts, including hours of width restrictions.
  • At times, motorists may encounter two separate work zones.

Slow down, obey the posted lowered speed limit, avoid all distractions, and go slow for the Cone Zone.
