In March 2020 The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Oldcastle Southwest Group, Inc., begin a project in late March 2020 to improve the surface and make safety improvements on CO Highway 141 over Slick Rock and CO 145 between Redvale and Naturita. The work consists of full-depth asphalt removal and repair in some sections; and an asphalt 'leveling' and overlay of the entire stretches. Work will also include minor shouldering, guardrail replacement, center line rumble strips and new pavement markings.

The awarded contract to Oldcastle SW Group is $10.688 million


Project Locations:

  • CO 141, MP 16.2 to 60.139 over Slick Rock and 
  • CO 145, MP 108.54 to 112.507 north and south of Redvale

Traffic Impacts

Through the project’s completion in late November 2020, motorists can expect single-lane, alternating travel through the work zone(s) during daylight hours, Monday through Friday.

Weekend work is not anticipated, though may be possible, if necessary to expedite the project’s completion.

Please avoid distractions as you travel through the work areas and go “Slow for the Cone Zone!”
