CO 119 Resurfacing in Nederland

About the Project:

This is a shoulder widening and resurfacing project located on CO119 south of Nederland. (Mile Points 22.7 to 25.8)

Work will include asphalt overlay and existing culvert cleaning and
rehabilitation. In addition, new signs and delineators will also be installed along the project corridor.


Project Benefits

  • A smooth road or highway has many important benefits including safety and improved quality for driving experience.
  • Resurfacing can greatly extend the life of the asphalt pavement; Some highways may last more than 50 years with periodic resurfacing of the top layer of asphalt and timely repairs.
  • Construction of wider shoulders will improve safety by providing a larger recoverable area on the side of the roadway and reduce the potential of crashes from vehicles veering off the main roadway.
  • Culvert improvements make necessary enhancements to accommodate higher accumulations of rainfall and lower the risks associated with such instances as flooding to maintain safe driving conditions.

Work Schedule:

  • Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM

Traffic Impacts:

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • On CO 119 south of Nederland , between mile points 22.7, and 25.8, motorists will encounter alternating lane closures and delays up to 10 minutes can be expected during working hours.
