CO 52 Culvert Extension at Weld County Road 19

Anticipated traffic impacts for the week of 11/28/2022 include:

  • CO 52 shoulder closures near CR 19
  • Due to limited space within the work zone, turn restrictions are in place for trucks as follows:
    • Right turns will be temporarily prohibited for trucks traveling northbound on CR 19 at CO 52.
    • Truck right turns will also be prohibited from westbound CO 52 to northbound CR 19.
    • Reduced work zone speed limit
    • Oversize vehicle with restriction of 12 feet

Anticipated construction activities include:

  • Clearing and preparing the area for the new culvert
  • Form and pour concrete box culvert floor south of CO 52

All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.

About the Project:

This project extends the ends of a concrete box culvert to improve road safety. Work includes replacing a 36-inch drainage culvert and widening intersection corners to accommodate large vehicles. Project completion is anticipated in early summer 2023 after a winter shutdown.


Work Schedule:

  • General work hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Monday through Friday with occasional extended hours and weekend work possible
  • Construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change

Traffic Impacts:

  • The intersection will remain open during construction. However, right turns will be temporarily prohibited for trucks northbound on CR 19 and westbound on CO 52
  • Signs will indicate when the restrictions are in place
  • Alternate routes are advised
  • Occasional lane closures and flagger control are possible
  • Oversize vehicle width restrict of 12 feet is on place
