Get Involved

CDOT highly values public and agency participation, and we need to hear from those who travel and live along Cottonwood Pass to help inform decision-making. Please get involved in one of the following ways:

Public Involvement

Round 1 Public Meetings Held July 2022

Public meetings were held on July 19, 2022 (at the Glenwood Springs Community Center) and July 20, 2022 (at the Gypsum Town Hall) to introduce the project and gather feedback regarding the potential improvements. Submit a comment by August 16 via the online comment form to have your comments included in the Round 1 Public Meetings Summary.

    • Round 2 meetings will be held to present the project outcomes and next steps
  • Participate in the Property Owner/Residential Issue Task Force. This group will meet three times throughout the project to discuss residential needs and gather input to inform decision-making. The first meeting is being held on August 15, from 2:30 – 4:30 pm. If you are interested in joining the Property Owner/Residential Issue Task Force, please email dot_[email protected]state.co.us or use the comment form to note your interest in the Issue Task Force.

Agency Coordination

  • A Project Leadership Team/Technical Team made up of technical experts from multiple disciplines and agencies will meet four times during the project to focus on moving the decision-making process forward. This group includes representatives from CDOT, Eagle County, Garfield County, Town of Gypsum, U.S. Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.
  • An Issue Task Force will also be formed of multidisciplinary agency staff to focus on natural resources, including wetlands, water quality, and wildlife.
