Denver Metro Guardrail Project

About the Project:

General information: Guardrail improvement work on Feb. 25. Work will take
place along six different roadways; US Highway 285, Interstate Highway 25, US Highway 6, Interstate Highway 76, Colorado Highway 74, and Colorado Highway 86. The project will happen in 10 different phases.


Project Benefits

  • The project will help prevent vehicles from running off the road and going down steep embankments, or veering off the roadway into oncoming traffic
  • Guardrails have many important benefits including safety and preventing far more serious crashes

Work Schedule:

  • Nighttime work hours are 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday
  • Work will last until the end of July

Traffic Impacts:

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Work site-dependent:
    • Vehicles could be reduced to a single-lane with intermittent alternating traffic in either direction
    • There will be up to 15-minute delays anticipated
