I-25 Southbound Bottleneck Mitigation

ALERT: Construction Activities

Through June 13, 2020

  • The SB I-25 right shoulder will be closed during daytime hours (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Monday to Friday from MP 215.9 to MP 214.7 for landscaping.
  • The left shoulder lanes will also be closed at the SB I-25 off-ramp to 58th Avenue and the 58th Avenue on-ramp to SB I-25.

In March 2020, crews on this project began construction of an auxiliary lane along southbound I-25 between I-76 and I-70. Work included

  • constructing new roadway shoulder
  • adding dowel bars into existing concrete pavement
  • signage and striping
  • construction of a ramp meter at the 58th Avenue interchange

Traffic Impacts

CDOT anticipates low to medium impact to traffic during the ramp metering phase of the project. These include:

  • Single lane and shoulder closures will exist at the 58th Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-25 during daytime and overnight hours. Signage will be in place to alert motorists.

All construction schedules are weather dependent and subject to change.


Work Schedule

  • Working hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Some night work will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • No work is expected to be performed over weekends or on observed holidays.
