Temporary Traffic Signal on Stanley Road

Starting June 6 and continuing for several months, expect alternating one-lane traffic in both directions of Stanley Road—between mile points 238 and 238.09—as crews activate a temporary traffic signal.

  • Location: west of Idaho Springs at I-70 Exit 238, between Stanley Road and Fall River Road

From May through November 2019, crews will build a two-lane bridge on I-70 over Clear Creek—west of Idaho Springs at Exit 238, between Stanley Road and Fall River Road. A stretch of approximately 845 feet of Stanley Road will be raised by four feet to meet the profile of the new bridge.

Other work includes:

  • Adding a 10-foot-wide raised sidewalk, barrier, guardrail and lighting to increase safety for bicyclists and pedestrians
  • Making drainage improvements
  • Erecting signs
  • Adding striping to the roadway

Schedule & Travel Impacts

  • Working hours: 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., Friday
  • No weekend or holiday work
  • Starting May 20: Stanley Road reduced to one lane with two-way travel directed by temporary traffic signals
  • Later in 2019: Eastbound I-70 off-ramp to Fall River Road closed for paving
