Construction Overview

The Colorado Department of Transportation and prime contractor Flatiron Construction Corporation will implement improved infrastructure and traffic flow solutions over the next 18-20 months. Work will be performed in phases to accomplish the following:

• Widening the on/off ramps from I-25 to Exit 11
• Installing roundabouts
• Replacing the existing bridge
• Increasing lane and bridge capacity
• Enhancing access for oversized loads
• Adding pedestrian/cyclist facilities
• Introducing aesthetic improvements

Construction Phasing - Tentative

Phase I – Mobilization, erosion control, embankment work, temporary onsite detour pavement

Phase 2 – Build retaining walls, ramp crossover work, construct new bridge, drainage work, roundabout and roadway work, sidewalks, and ADA ramps.

Phase 3 – Roundabout retaining walls, remove existing bridge, utility work, paving.

Phase 4 – Drainage work, embankment work, roadway work, guardrail and safety features, signage, signals and lighting, clean culverts, landscaping.
