Work Zone Awareness Week

National Work Zone Awareness Week 2020

On April 20 through April 24, 2020 the American Traffic Safety Services Association, Federal Highway Administration and the Colorado Department of Transportation celebrated National Work Zone Awareness Week. This annual commemorative week launches the start of active construction season and encourages drivers to be safe and alert while driving through highway work zones.

This year, the national theme is “Safe Work Zones for All. Protect workers. Protect road users. We Can Do It!” Follow us on Facebook to see how the I-25 South Gap project is promoting safety this week and throughout the year.

Virtual Coloring Contest

As part of Work Zone Awareness Week, the I-25 South Gap project team hosted a coloring contest to promote the week’s theme, “Safe Work Zones for All. Protect workers. Protect road users. We Can Do It!” Elementary students from around Colorado participated.

Congratulations to Titus from Fowler Elementary School for winning the first I-25 South Gap coloring contest! His picture will be created into a sticker that workers will wear on their hard hats.
