Projects

I-70 B 1st Street & Grand Avenue - Construction Phase

Work this Week

Week of July 26-30, 2021

  • I-70B mainline will continue as one lane each direction, 24/7, from Mulberry St. to Main St. with the right lanes closed. It’s anticipated that work on the waterline will be complete this week.
  • Commercial vehicles (CMV) are encouraged to use alternate routes around the project. With the current traffic control configuration the team is seeing more and more trucks that are having trouble navigating the work zone.
  • Crews will begin sidewalk pours, curb & gutter and ADA ramps on the newly constructed frontage road that runs from Mulberry St. to in front of the Grand Central shopping complex. Mulberry St. remains alternating one lane of traffic under flagger control for continued excavation of the frontage road and retaining wall construction.
  • Northbound North 1st St. is closed with the detour around that location being North Ave. back to 1st St. The southbound leg of North 1st St. remains open.
  • Access to the Grand Central shopping center continues to be the southern entrance on the CO 340 side of the shopping center. Business access open and detour signs are posted.
