Project Update | I-70 Bridge Rehabilitation project begins its winter shutdown on Jan. 16, 2026

Arapahoe County — The Colorado Department of Transportation, and its contractor Structures Inc., will start a winter shutdown for bridge improvements along Interstate 70 north of Deer Trail on Jan. 16, 2026. Crews plan to resume work in March 2026.

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contractor Structures Inc. start work on the Interstate 70 bridge rehabilitation and deck repair project southeast of Byers between Peoria and Deer Trail (Mileposts 323.1 to 325.3).

Work consists of:

  • Bridge deck repairs at four structures
  • Full depth concrete pavement reconstruction at bridge approaches
  • Girder and column repairs

The project started in September 2025 and is located on I-70 between Deer Trail and Peoria (from mile point 323.1 to 325.3). Work includes repairing bridge decks of four structures, including new concrete pavement at the bridge approaches. The project is expected to complete in September 2026.
