Special Closure of southbound on ramp from CO 119 to CO 157 - Saturday, Dec. 10 & Sunday, Dec. 11 - 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. The on ramp from CO 119 to southbound CO 157 will be closed from approx. 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday The closure is necessary to access parts of the bridge deck for polyester concrete overlay operations Signage will be present alerting motorists to the temporary closure Motorists will be detoured to southbound 47th to westbound Valmont to access southbound CO 157 from CO 119 CDOT appreciates your understanding during this temporary ramp closure If work is not completed this weekend, additional ramp closures will be in place over the following weekend of Dec. 17-18

Over the next few weeks, crews will continue making safety critical bridge deck and other repairs to a structure on CO 157 over the BSNF Railroad.

On CO 157, motorists can expect:

  • **Crews will work weekends from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as needed until completion. This is for temperature-critical work activities such as poly overlay and striping/epoxy installation**
  • Alternating single lane closures will be in place in both directions of CO 157 over the bridge during overnight hours Sunday to Thursday
  • Flaggers, signs and devices exist to direct alternating southbound/northbound traffic through the single lane configuration
  • Occasional closures will be in place on the road below the bridge
  • Construction noise and bright lights will exist during this overnight bridge repair work

Lyons Bridge Repairs - CO 7

  • The temporary signals have been deactivated and no additional lane closures are expected on CO 7.
  • Scour mitigation and riprap installation work is being performed under the bridge

About the Project:

This project entails repairing and making structural and safety improvements to two bridges In Boulder County. The Boulder bridge (Structure D-16-DG) on CO 157 will undergo deck repairs and expansion device and median curb replacement. Surface work includes polyester concrete overlay, new cover plates, concrete sealer and spall repairs. Maintenance work on the Lyons bridge (D-15-A) on CO 7 includes adding abutment protection riprap as a scour countermeasure.

Work Schedule

  • Work on the Boulder bridge began on July 5 with an anticipated completion date of December 22, 202
  • Working hours are 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and during daytime (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) hours on weekends, as needed for temperature critical wor
  • Lyons bridge: work began on Aug. 22 with an anticipated completion date of late Novembe
  • Lyons bridge repairs will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Frida
  • No work will be performed between noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23 and 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 2
  • Once all bridge deck work is complete, the temporary signals will be remove
  • All constructions schedules are weather dependent and subject to change

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect:

  • Boulder bridge: single lane closures and reduced speeds will be in place during overnight hours and daytime on weekends as needed for temperature critical work until December 2

  • Flaggers and construction devices will be present as needed to direct alternating northbound/southbound traffic through the single lane configuratio

  • Occasional flagging will also be in place on the road below CO 157 during working hour

  • Lyons bridge: will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be under alternate flow controlled by temporary traffic signals
