Ongoing Traffic Impacts
The Region 3 Wrong Way Detection Project will be conducted at 87 off-ramp locations along I-70, starting at Exit 205 in Silverthorne and moving west to complete at Exit 2 in Rabbit Valley.

REVISED Monday, Oct. 18 to Thursday, Oct. 21 work will consist of:

  • Monday Oct. 18
    • Westbound left and right shoulder closures at exits 205, 203, 180
    • Eastbound left and right shoulder closures at exit 167
  • Tuesday Oct. 19
    • Eastbound and westbound left and right shoulder closures at exit 94
    • Eastbound full ramp closure at exit 105
  • Wednesday Oct. 20
    • Eastbound and westbound left and right shoulder closures at exit 90
    • Eastbound left and right shoulder closures at exit 87
  • Thursday Oct. 21
    • Eastbound left and right shoulder closures at exits 75 and 81
    • Westbound left and right shoulder closures at exit 87
  • SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER, EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL AND OTHER ROADWAY PROJECTS ALONG I-70

About the Project:

Starting July 12, the Colorado Department of Transportation and Contractor Colorado Barricade will begin installing wrong-way detection systems in Eagle, Garfield, Mesa, and Summit counties. Work will take place at 87 off-ramp locations along I-70, starting at Exit 205 (Silverthorne) and moving west to complete at Exit 2 (Rabbit Valley).


Work Schedule

  • Work is scheduled for July 12 and is expected to last through mid October. Normal working hours will be Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic Impacts

  • Travelers by car can expect various lane closures where work zones exist, during daylight hours, Monday through Thursday.
