Southeastern Colorado Bridge Bundle Project | Construction Phase

Work this Month
January 2023

West Region Structure Construction

  • Construction has halted for a winter shutdown. The structure near Guffey at MP 15.9 on CO 9 is complete. Crews will return to this structure this spring for project close-out activities (landscaping, final striping, etc.).

East Region Structure Construction near Timpas – MP 56.5

  • A temporary traffic shift is in place between MP 56.5 and MP 56.0 just north of Timpas as crews continue assembly work of a new structure in that location. As a result of this work, direct access to east County Road N from US 350 is temporarily closed and motorists should use County Road 21 to County Road N.
  • Shoulder closures and occasional lane closures on US 350 between MP 56.5 and MP 57.5 are possible for several weeks while crews work on current structures and finish work on two bridge structures completed in late October.
  • All construction schedules are weather and resource dependent.

About the Project:

CDOT, and its contractor partner CapitalTezak JV, will replace 17 rural structures across key highway corridors (CO 9, US 24 and US 350) in Region 2. The 17 rural structures that comprise the project area are on essential highway corridors in southeastern and central Colorado. The key corridors provide rural mobility, intra- and interstate commerce, movement of agricultural products and supplies, and access to tourist destinations. The $43 million project will start in summer 2022 and project completion is slated for winter 2024.
