Pumpkin pie and sober rides: CDOT begins Thanksgiving Week DUI enforcement period

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and CDOT is making preparations for its next DUI enforcement period. The agency is supporting Colorado State Patrol and 77 local law enforcement agencies to conduct the Thanksgiving Week enforcement period from Nov. 16-29, spanning 14 days.

CDOT, in partnership with Uber, recently completed a Fall Football voucher which was available from Oct. 8–30. During this time, 575 safe rides were provided statewide. Throughout 2023, CDOT has distributed more than $23,600 in credits and 7,000 rides over four holiday and special event enforcement periods, the 2023 football season kickoff and more.

The recent Halloween Weekend enforcement period concluded with 170 arrests across 80 participating agencies. The agencies with the highest arrests were Colorado Springs Police Department (28), Fort Collins Police Department (16) and Lakewood Police Department (9). CSP reported 22 arrests.
