St. Patrick’s Day Enforcement Takes Impaired Drivers Off the Road

They say wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day will protect you from the pinch of a leprechaun, but planning a sober ride ahead was the best way to stay safe and avoid the costly dangers of an impaired driving crash or DUI arrest. Unfortunately, many drivers put themselves and other Coloradans at risk and were arrested with a DUI conviction during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period. CDOT, CSP and local law enforcement agencies helped keep roads safe over St. Patrick’s Day as part of The Heat Is On DUI enforcement campaign from Friday, March 16, to Monday, March 19.

The next The Heat Is On DUI enforcement period begins Friday, April 6, and will last five weeks surrounding spring events.
