Northbound I-25 overnight lane closures in Colorado Springs

Aug. 28, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Due to weather delays, lane closures between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road begin at 7 p.m. on Sept. 2

Colorado Springs — The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner, SEMA Construction, Inc., will have overnight lane closures on Interstate 25 while setting girders on the bridge structure over Ellston Street from Mile Point 144 near Fillmore Street to MP 146 near Garden of the Gods Road as part of the I-25 Acceleration/Deceleration Lanes Project. The overnight lane closures are planned for Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Traffic Impacts

On the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 2, motorists can expect lane closures on northbound I-25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road:

  • From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., the northbound right lane will be closed
  • From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the northbound right lane and middle lane will be closed
  • During the double lane closures traffic will be reduced to one lane
  • All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3
  • From 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sinton Trail will be closed at Ellston Street under I-25
  • Work is weather-dependent and subject to change

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
