Resurfacing of CO 65 near Orchard City is complete

Delta County — The Colorado Department of Transportation, with its contract partner United Companies, have completed a highway resurfacing project on Colorado Highway 65 near Orchard City.

“This project shows CDOTs commitment to bettering our roadways and will extend the life of the asphalt pavement on CO 65,” said Jason Smith, CDOT’s Regional Transportation Director. “Not only does this project lengthen the life of the road surface, but it enhances the safety of our community members and visitors by providing a smoother road surface.”

Work included the resurfacing of northbound and southbound lanes of CO 65, pavement markings, delineators, driveway approaches, new guardrail in some locations, and bridge deck repair on the structure spanning the Gunnison River.

This work occurred from Mile Point 0 at the intersection with Colorado Highway 92 to MP 6.5, just north of Eckert.
