Northbound I-25 overnight lane closures in Colorado Springs

June 17, 2025 - Southeastern Colorado - Lane closures between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road begin at 7 p.m. on June 18

Colorado Springs — The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner, SEMA Construction, Inc., will implement an overnight traffic switch on northbound Interstate 25 between Mile Point 146 near Fillmore Street and 144 near Garden of the Gods Road. This shift is necessary to maintain traffic flow while crews prepare for the upcoming Ellston Street bridge demolition. The traffic switch is planned for Wednesday, June 18.

Beginning at 7 p.m., the northbound left lane of I-25 will be closed from Fillmore Street to Garden of the Gods Road. Beginning at 10 p.m., there will be double lane closures on northbound I-25 until 5 a.m. During the double lane closures traffic will be reduced to one lane. All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m.

Sinton Trail closed under I-25 Tuesday, June 17 through Tuesday, June 24 to ensure public safety during the demolition of the Ellston Street Bridge at I-25.

Traffic Impacts

On the evening of Wednesday, June 18, motorists can expect lane closures on northbound I-25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road:

  • Beginning at 7 p.m., the northbound I-25 left lane will be closed
  • From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., there will be double lane closures on northbound I-25
  • During the double lane closures, traffic will be reduced to one lane
  • All lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 19
  • Work is weather-dependent and subject to change

  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
