Northbound and southbound I-25 overnight lane closures begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 24

Feb. 23, 2026 - Southeastern Colorado - Traffic will be reduced to one lane at 10 p.m.

Colorado Springs — The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contract partner, SEMA Construction, Inc., will have lane closures on north- and southbound Interstate 25 between Mile Point 144 near Fillmore Street and MP 146 near Garden of the Gods Road.

During the planned overnight lane closures Tuesday, Feb. 24 and Wednesday, Feb. 25, traffic lanes will be shifted to the east to allow crews to construct a new median shoulder. Additional overnight closures on Thursday, Feb. 26, and Friday, Feb. 27, are scheduled for roadway restriping.

Traffic Impacts

On the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 24, and Thursday, Feb. 26, motorists can expect lane closures on northbound I-25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road:

  • Beginning at 7 p.m., the northbound left lane will be closed
  • From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. there will be double lane closures on northbound I-25
  • During the double lane closures traffic will be reduced to one lane
  • All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

On the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 25 and Friday, Feb. 27, motorists can expect lane closures on southbound I-25 between Fillmore Street and Garden of the Gods Road:

  • Beginning at 7 p.m., the southbound left lane will be closed
  • From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. there will be double lane closures on southbound I-25
  • During the double lane closures traffic will be reduced to one lane
  • All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m.

The work schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.

  • Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
  • Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
  • Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
  • Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
  • Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
