Project Announcement

Feb. 3, 2026 - Denver Metro/Central Colorado - Bridge repairs will ensure the continued safety of the traveling public

Douglas County - The Colorado Department of Transportation in partnership with Ames Construction, will begin work on the southbound Santa Fe bridge to eastbound C-470 flyover. Beginning Feb. 2, crews will begin work to repair a pier cap and column at Pier 7 to ensure the continued safety of the traveling public. The project is anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2026.

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect:

  • A single lane closure on C-470 westbound off-ramp to northbound Santa Fe will remain in place through the duration of the project
  • Starting Feb. 2, crews will work Monday through Friday during daylight hours. A two-week period of 24/7 work and lane closures are also anticipated later in the project. Dates will be shared as they are finalized. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone
  • Later this month, expect two consecutive nights of full closures on the westbound C-470 off-ramp and the eastbound C-470 flyover ramp. A signed detour will be in place
  • Overweight load restrictions are in place for commercial motor vehicles on the bridge. Truck drivers should follow all posted weight-limit signage
  • Additional short-term lane and ramp closures, including single-night closures, may occur as construction progresses. Work and impacts are weather-dependent
