CDOT began signal installation project at CO 52 and WCR 41 on March 4
Project Announcement
Weld County – Starting today, March 4, the Colorado Department of Transportation, in partnership with contractor Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., will begin a signal installation project along Colorado Highway 52 at Weld County Road 41, between Hudson and Fort Lupton.
Anticipated completion is expected mid-April 2026.
This project will install new traffic signals at the intersection of CO 52 and WCR 41 to improve safety and traffic flow for motorists. The work includes traffic lights, stop lines, signage and other signal-related devices. The CO 52 corridor in Weld and Morgan counties has become a key east–west route in the Northern Front Range, supporting growing traffic volumes and regional connectivity.
Project Schedule
- Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The work schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change
Traffic Impacts
- Shoulder closures and lane shifts at the CO 52 and WCR 41 intersection
- Reduced speed limits through the work zone
- Brief delays may occur
- Flaggers will be on site to guide motorists
- Please be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the work zone

- Do not speed in work zones. Obey the posted speed limits.
- Stay Alert! Expect the unexpected.
- Watch for workers. Drive with caution.
- Don't change lanes unnecessarily.
- Avoid using mobile devices such as phones while driving in work zones.
- Turn on headlights so that workers and other drivers can see you.
- Be especially alert at night while driving in work zones.
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Allow ample space between you and the car in front of you.
- Anticipate lane shifts and merge when directed to do so.
- Be patient!
