Vasquez Boulevard Improvements Project completes significant milestone on E. 62nd Avenue

Project Update

March 16, 2026 - Denver Metro/Central Colorado - Work will transition to focus on the median along Vasquez Boulevard

Adams County — The Vasquez Boulevard Improvements project reached a major milestone in late February with the completion of widening work along E. 62nd Avenue between Vasquez Boulevard and Parkway Avenue. The roadway is now reopened to through traffic, and business access is available from E. 62nd Avenue.

Westbound traffic from E. 62nd Avenue will only be able to access northbound Colorado Highway 2 until the median along Vasquez Boulevard is complete in summer 2026. Eastbound traffic will have full access through the roadway. The on and off ramps between Vasquez Boulevard and CO 2 near E. 63rd Avenue have also been completed, and the right turn from northbound CO 2 onto eastbound 63rd Avenue has been reopened.

With this work complete, the project will now transition to improvements in the Vasquez Boulevard median. On March 16, crews will begin work between E. 60th to E. 64th avenues. This phase will include median installation, curb and gutter work, guardrail installation and preparation work for a turn lane and acceleration lane along Vasquez Boulevard.

This work will take place behind a barrier with minimal impacts to the traveling public. North and southbound traffic lanes on Vasquez Boulevard will be slightly realigned, but all lanes will remain open for this portion of the project. This work is expected to be complete in the summer of 2026.
