CO 348 Delta to Olathe resurfacing project to begin next week
Project Announcement
Delta & Montrose Counties — The Colorado Department of Transportation with prime contractor, United Companies, will begin a resurfacing, culvert repair and concrete box culvert installation project in Delta and Montrose counties beginning next week.
Minimal impacts to motorists will occur for the remainder of the 2026 season with work being performed on Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps and culvert crossing repairs on CO 348. Additional work will take place on US 50 from the intersection of CO 92 through downtown Delta to the intersection with Confluence Drive, the work consists of milling and paving operations scheduled to take place in the spring of 2027.
Crews will begin work on the ADA ramps and culvert crossings on CO 348 just outside of Delta. Construction will take place during daytime hours from dawn to dusk, Monday through Friday.
The project’s resurfacing efforts are expected to provide a smoother and safer driving experience for motorists. Studies show that an even roadway surface decreases wear-and-tear on vehicles and allows for better driver control in variable weather conditions. The concrete box culvert replaces an aging bridge structure and will provide better irrigation flow. Additional curb ramp improvements will also offer better pedestrian accessibility for those who walk, roll and stroll through the area.
The project is anticipated to be completed by June of 2027.
