Visioning Workshop, December 7 and 8, 2011

The Visioning Workshop was part of the scoping process for the Grand Avenue Bridge project. The purpose was to clarify the context for the bridge, explore the community and stakeholder values that will shape the plans for the future bridge, and document the principles and desired outcomes that will be considered as the project moves forward.

The workshop was held on December 7 and 8, 2011, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. Approximately 32 people represented a broad range of local interest groups, including businesses, business groups, property owners, local commissions and boards, local recreationalists, and environmental organizations. There were four CDOT staff, plus eight consultant team members also in attendance.

The agenda included informational presentations and several breakout groups that discussed historical context, trends, and project concepts and elements to identify what was most important to the community and what values should be provided as guidance to the planners and engineers. A complete summary of the Visioning Workshop is provided on this website page.

The public is invited to submit comments to the study team through this website or directly to CDOT Project Manager, Joe Elsen at [email protected].
