US 40 Floyd Hill Mill and Fill

On Aug. 1, 2016, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) started the US 40 Floyd Hill Mill & Fill Project, a pavement restoration and maintenance project along four miles of US 40, west of Genesee Park and north of Saddleback Mountain.

This project will:

  • Extend the life of the highway for 10 more years.
  • Improve the quality and smoothness of the highway.
  • Restore the current pavement and add a hot mix asphalt overlay as the top layer.
  • Repair a bridge deck and resurface it.
  • Recondition the shoulders.
  • Adjust guardrail and install about 4,640 feet of new guardrail—meeting new CDOT safety standards.
