Sign Improvements in Park & Summit Counties

Project Complete

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation, in partnership with Work Zone Traffic Control, completed the removal and replacement of road sign structures on several highways in Park and Summit counties. The project included work along Colorado Highway 9, US Highway 24 and US Highway 285. Crews replaced aging overhead and ground-mounted sign structures to meet current state highway standards and improve overall roadway infrastructure.

The new regulatory, warning and wayfinding signs improve visibility and provide clearer information for motorists traveling through the region. These upgrades help drivers more safely and easily navigate mountainous terrain and key corridors across Park and Summit counties.

Work was completed in segments across the project area, including CO 9 from the Fremont County line to Blue River, US 24 from west of Hartsel to Wilkerson Pass and US 285 from south of Fairplay to Bailey. These corridors serve as important regional and recreational routes through central Colorado.

CDOT and its project partners appreciate the patience and cooperation of area residents and travelers during the project.
