CO 144 Bridge & Road Repairs from Log Lane Village to Weldona

Project Completed

About the Project:

The Colorado Department of Transportation will make preventative repairs to the Colorado Highway 144 bridge over Bijou Creek (Mile Point 24.4), which is approximately three miles west of Log Lake Village. A temporary signal will control traffic in a single lane through the bridge work zone.

The project also includes full-depth road reconstruction east of Weldona near County Road 12 (MP 20.6). Road repairs require a safety closure of CO 144 for approximately one and a half months.

Project Benefits

These improvements will benefit the public by:

  • Enhancing safety and mobility for travelers
  • Providing a smoother driving surface
  • Increasing the longevity of the highway

Work Schedule:

  • Daytime work hours ranging from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Night and weekend work are possible

Traffic Impacts:

  • Travelers should expect intermittent lane closures, traffic shifts and alternating traffic
  • Flaggers and temporary signals may be present, be prepared to stop
  • Detour routes will be signed if temporary road closures are necessary
  • Traffic will be held at intersections and driveways while equipment passes through to ensure product quality and safe operations
  • Temporary rough riding surfaces may be present until paving is finished
  • Speed limit reductions and width restrictions will be in place as needed
  • Watch for vehicles entering and exiting the work zone
