CO 145 Widening West of Society Turn
About the Project
Williams Construction will be performing road work on Colorado Highway 145 at Mile Point 71, just west of the Society Turn Roundabout.
Construction will include:
- Shoulder work
- Pavement widening
- Fresh paint striping
This access improvement project is for a private development being funded by Genesee Properties, Inc. The design and construction is permitted and overseen by CDOT traffic and safety staff. The work is expected to be completed by early September.

Project Benefits
To accommodate future traffic patterns, the road will be widened to allow for a new right-hand turn lane including acceleration and deceleration lanes.
Work Schedule
March through early September 2026, motorists will encounter road work on CO 145 approximately 3 miles west of Telluride proper. Traffic impacts will include:
- Daytime work hours range from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Motorists will encounter lane shifts and traffic pattern changes throughout the duration of the project
- These lane closures, guided by flaggers, will have minimal delays up to 5 minutes
- The speed limit will be reduced throughout the work zone
