CO 52 Resurfacing North of Fort Morgan

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation and its contracting partner, Simon Contractors, are resurfacing approximately nine miles of Colorado Highway 52 north of Fort Morgan, from County Road T (Mile Point 87.8) to County Road BB (MP 96.9).

Crews will resurface the highway, install centerline rumble strips, apply new pavement markings and replace roadway signs. The improvements will extend the life of the pavement, provide a smoother driving surface and enhance safety. Centerline rumble strips will alert drivers who drift from their lane, while new pavement markings and signs will improve visibility and help motorists more easily navigate the corridor, particularly at night and during poor weather.

Construction is anticipated to be completed in late October.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Work schedules may be impacted by weather and other unanticipated delays

Traffic Impacts

• Where CO 52 has four lanes, traffic will be shifted into a head-to-head configuration, with two lanes closed
• Along the two-lane section of CO 52, motorists can expect alternating, single-lane traffic controlled by flaggers
• Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected
• Speed limits are reduced through the work zone
• An 11-foot width restriction will be in place
  • Vehicles wider than 11 feet will not be permitted through the work zone and should use an alternate route
• Watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the work area and use caution when traveling through the work zone
