CO 63 Resurfacing North & South of Akron

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation and prime contractor, Simon, will begin a resurfacing project in early June along Colorado Highway 63, north and south of the Town of Akron.

This resurfacing project will include milling, pavement overlay, striping, and signage installation. In some areas, shoulders will be graded to create a more gradual slope from the pavement, erosion control measures will be installed, and guardrail will be replaced.

This $7.9 million dollar project is expected to start the week of June 2, 2025 and continue through October, 2025. Approximately nine miles of CO 63 will be improved, from Mile Point 25.1 south of Akron to Mile Point 34.3 north of town.
