Project Benefits

  • Enhanced pedestrian safety and accessibility: By constructing approximately 0.7 miles of new sidewalk along Parker Road, the project will provide a safe and accessible route for pedestrians, including residents, commuters, and visitors. The wider sidewalks, measuring 10 feet in most sections, with variations of 8 feet and 10 feet in specific locations, will accommodate increased foot traffic and improve connectivity in the area. Additionally, the installation of a pedestrian bridge structure over Sulphur Gulch will further enhance safety for pedestrians crossing the roadway.
  • Improved infrastructure and community connectivity: The construction of the new sidewalk and pedestrian bridge will contribute to the overall improvement of infrastructure in the Town of Parker, Colorado. By expanding pedestrian pathways and enhancing connectivity, the project will facilitate easier access to local amenities, businesses, recreational areas, and public transportation options. This increased connectivity can foster a stronger sense of community and support economic vitality by encouraging pedestrian activity along Parker Road.
  • Traffic management and congestion reduction: While construction may temporarily impact traffic flow along Parker Road, the project includes strategies to minimize disruptions and maintain efficient traffic management. Clear signage, flaggers, and alternative routes will help guide motorists through the work zone safely and reduce congestion.
