Work includes installing new Box Culvert at CO 96 and 71 to improve drainage. The project is located in Ordway, Las Animas and the surrounding areas, including:

  • CO 194 at MP 18 and 15.6
  • CO 71 at MP 27.6 and 4.6 
  • CO 96 at MP 82.3 and 130.5

Project Benefits

Traffic Impacts

Beginning June 1, motorists and area residents can expect the following impacts:

  • Crews will be working weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Single-lane and shoulder closures
  • 11-foot width restrictions
  • Reduced speeds in the work zone will be in place
  • Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change
  • Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone
