Eastern Plains Timber Bridge Replacement
About the Project:
Ten timber bridges throughout the region are in the process of being removed and replaced with concrete bridges or box culverts. Eight bridges are now complete. Roadway pavement on the bridge approaches will be removed and replaced. Outside shoulders will be widened to eight feet across each bridge or box culvert. Other project work includes new guardrail, drainage improvements, access modifications, and upgraded signage and striping. Drivers should expect full roadway closures for the two remaining bridge replacements.
Phases 1 and 2 are complete. Phase 3 is underway. Finishing work on the CO 61 (Phase 3) bridge will occur in spring 2024.
The schedule for Phase 4 bridge work is yet to be determined.
