Eastern Plains Timber Bridge Replacement
About the Project
Eight timber bridges throughout the region were removed and replaced with concrete bridges or box culverts in 2022 and 2023.
Other project work included:
- Roadway reconstruction or resurfacing
- Shoulder widening
- New guardrail
- Drainage improvements
- Upgraded signage and striping
The two bridges originally included in Phase 4 on US 34 near Laird will now be constructed as part of a different project.
Work Schedule
General work hours were Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The table below provides general schedule information for each of the bridge locations.
Traffic Impacts
- CO 61 (MP 3.34) over Surveyor Creek, approximately three miles north of US 34, Otis
- Drivers encountered intermittent shoulder closures and one-lane alternating traffic during daylight hours in spring 2024 for finishing work
