Fairplay Mobility Hub Improvements

About the Project

This project will upgrade the mobility hub in the town of Fairplay. The project is located on Colorado Highway 9 (Main Street) at Mile Point 65.3 where it intersects with 4th Street.

The project will include: 

  • New transit stop with bus loading and unloading areas
  • Passenger waiting zone
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks and ramps
  • New parking lot
  • Internal circulation improvements
  • Drainage and lighting infrastructure improvements

Project Benefits

  • This mobility hub provides a central location where multiple modes of transportation come together, making it easy for travelers to switch from one mode to another
  • These improvements will encourage public transit, helping to reduce congestion and emissions while connecting users to local and surrounding communities

Work Schedule

  • Work beings Sept. 16 and is expected to be complete late 2026
  • Working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon on Fridays.

Traffic Impacts

  • Various shoulder closures and some single lane closures will be in place within the work zone
  • Motorists are urged to drive with caution, follow all signs, and leave plenty of following distance when traveling through the area
  • Construction schedules could change depending on the weather
