Federal Boulevard Signal Improvements
About the Project
This will be a safety and traffic flow improvement project at two intersections on Federal Boulevard in the City and County of Denver.
Work at 41st Avenue includes:
- Replacing the outdated signals with new signal poles, mast arms and signal equipment
- Add new sections of sidewalk and new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps
- Restripe the intersection
The West Bayaud Avenue location will receive the following:
- Pedestrian crossing signals
- Push buttons
- Crosswalks
- New striping

Work Schedule
- Begins on Dec. 8, 2025 with a duration of about eight to 10 weeks
- Construction schedule is weather dependent and subject to change
- Regular working hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday
- Some overnight and weekend work is also expected
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Single lane closures at 41st Avenue during daytime hours, Monday to Friday
- Single lane closures will also be in place in both directions of Federal Boulevard at West Bayaud Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday
- Brief traffic holds will be implemented at 41st Avenue during overnight mast arm placement. This work will be managed by uniformed traffic control personnel to maintain safety
- Two-way traffic will be maintained
- Pedestrian and ADA access will remain in place for the duration of the project
- Signs and construction devices will be present at both locations to alert motorists and pedestrians to work zone restrictions
