US 160/550 CFI Project Making Progress

April 11, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO, CO — CDOT and Concrete Works of Colorado, Inc. are making good progress on the US 160/550 Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) project scheduled for completion in mid-August. This past week crews installed curb and gutter, as well as raised crosswalks for increased pedestrian safety at College Drive.

CDOT’s Summer Maintenance Activities Increase as Warm Weather Holds

April 11, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - Spring snowmelt and some periodic adverse conditions in the mountains will keep Colorado Department of Transportation crews readied for winter maintenance, but crews have been tackling summer maintenance projects as weather permits.

Click It or Ticket Rural Enforcement Cites 1,716 Drivers

April 14, 2014 - Statewide Traffic Safety - Many rural drivers took their life in their hands and now they are out $65 because they didn’t do something that takes less than two seconds—buckle their seat belt. During the Click It or Ticket rural enforcement period that occurred from March 31 to April 6, law enforcement agencies throughout rural Colorado issued 1,716 citations to drivers who weren’t buckled up.

Telephone Town Hall Offering Citizens Forum to Talk Transportation in Southwest Colorado

April 15, 2014 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is hosting a telephone town hall next week for the residents of Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties, providing them with an opportunity to ask questions and provide input about their regional transportation priorities.

US 40 Closed at El Rancho Due to Sinkhole

April 15, 2014 - Central Eastern Colorado/CDOT Region 1 - DENVER/WESTERN COLORADO —The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has closed US 40 in both directions from Soda Creek to El Rancho due to a sinkhole that has developed on the roadway.
