I-25 Trinidad Resurfacing

About the Project

The Colorado Department of Transportation in partnership with United Companies will begin on the I-25 surface treatment project from downtown Trinidad to Ludlow on April 7, 2025. This project is located in Las Animas County with the work zone stretching from Trinidad near Main Street north (Mile Point 13.3 to 26.6).

Work consists of:

  • two and a half inch hot mix asphalt mill and overlay
  • pavement markings and delineation

Once complete, the project will improve drivability and provide safer road conditions for travelers. The project is expected to complete in Fall 2025.

Work Schedule

Traffic Impacts

Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:

  • Traffic holds of up to 10 minutes
  • Single lane closures, double lane closures and shoulder closures will take place within the work zone
  • Reduced speeds in the work zone
  • Plan ahead and expect short delays
