I-70 Aerotropolis Parkway Interchange
About the Project
This is a local agency project for the Aerotropolis Regional Transportation Authority. The project consists of building a new interchange on I-70 east of E-470.
Work includes:
- Realigning the south portion of Colfax Avenue/I-70 Frontage Road
- Adding drainage ponds
- Building on and off ramps
- Constructing a new bridge spanning I-70
- Constructing roundabouts on the north and south ends of the interchange that will eventually tie into future roadways

Project Benefits

Work Schedule
- Working hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Some overnight (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.) and weekend work also expected
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Single overnight lane closures will occur in both directions of I-70 within the project limits from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday
- Single lane closures can be expected in both directions of I-70 within the project limits at anytime on Saturday and Sunday
- A full closure of I-70 will be in place to set girders for the new bridge structure later in the project, with detour routes posted
- Traffic shifts, lane closures and changing conditions will exist on the Colfax Avenue/I-70 Frontage Road during day and night work
- Signs and construction devices will be present to alert motorists to the work zone, impacts and other restrictions
