Sign Improvements in Park & Summit Counties
About the Project
The project will consist of removing, replacing and repairing road signs on several highways in Park and Summit Counties, including CO 9, US 24 and US 285. Many of the current sign structures and signs are in poor condition and will be upgraded to meet current state highway standards. The project is expected to begin in October 2025 and will be completed by June 2026.

- CO 9 from Hartsel to 29 miles south (Mile Point 18 to 47)
- CO 9 from Hartsel to Fairplay (MP 48 to 64)
- US 24 from four miles west to 14 miles east of Hartsel (MP 235 to 253)
- US 285 from 11 miles south and 37 miles north of Fairplay (MP 172 to 225)
- Summit County:
- CO 9 from Fairplay to north of Hoosier Pass (MP 65 to 80)

Work Schedule
- Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Work schedules may be impacted by weather and other unanticipated delays
Traffic Impacts
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Shoulder, alternating-lane and mobile closures
- Flaggers and a pilot car will guide motorists
- Delays may occur
- Speed limit will be reduced to 40 MPH
- Please be aware of construction vehicles entering and exiting the work area
