Southwest Colorado Pavement Marking
About the Project:
This project involves painting 6-inch striping over existing pavement markings on both asphalt and concrete pavement types. These new white and yellow markings will match existing pavement lines. Work is scheduled to be completed in early August 2023.
The project work consists of regionwide striping at various locations along several highways: US 24, US 50, US 160, US 285, CO 291, US 491 and US 550.
Project Benefits
- By completing yearly maintenance on highway pavement markings, we are able to preserve the safety and integrity of our highways.
- Maintaining the reflectivity on highway centerlines and edgelines, helps guide the traveling public, especially at night and during inclement weather conditions.
Work Schedule:
-
General working hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Traffic Impacts:
Motorists can expect the following impacts during the period of construction:
- Mobile traffic control will be used in work zones with slow-moving traffic
- Drivers may expect delays and are asked to exercise patience when encountering the mobile pavement marking zone
- Use caution and slower speeds when traveling through the work zone as there will be wet paint throughout the work route
- Refer to COtrip.org for real-time travel conditions and road closures
