US 24 Resurfacing from Divide to Woodland Park

Project Status/Updates | Winter Shutdown

US 24 from Florissant to Woodland Park is currently under a winter shutdown. The seasonal shutdown is necessary to maintain safety conditions for both workers and the traveling public due to adverse winter conditions. Crews will resume work summer of 2026.

About the Project

The project will improve approximately 12 miles of US 24 from Mile Point 269.4 (Florissant) to MP 281 (west of Woodland Park). Improvements will also take place on CO 67 in Woodland park from MP 76.9 (US 24/CO 67 intersection) to MP 77.5 (Red Feather Lane).

Work will include:

  • Milling old asphalt
  • Paving with new asphalt
  • Guardrail replacement
  • Curb and gutter improvements

Project Status

During the 2025 construction season, which begin in late April, crews milled the existing asphalt, paved new asphalt, removed and installed new guardrail, and replaced curb and gutter. When crews return in the summer of 2026, they will complete the final touches on the side streets and finish the permanent striping, which must be applied during warmer temperatures to ensure proper adhesion.
